Welcome to the New NCISA Association Website
This website is one of the tools we use to provide information about our Association and contact with our membership. Information can be obtained regarding our organization, planned events, and, in the Members Only Section, information about our members. Also within the members’ area are interactive sections where members can share their thoughts and engage in diverse discussions.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) has a long history of service to the Nation and the Department of the Navy. Originally chartered in 1882 as the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), it became the Naval Investigative Service (NIS) in 1966 and the NCIS in 1992. It is the primary law enforcement and counterintelligence arm of the Department of the Navy.
Today’s NCIS is comprised of a corps of federal law enforcement Special Agents, Analysts, and Professional Support Personnel. The NCIS mission includes major criminal investigations, counterintelligence and counterterrorism.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Service Association (NCISA) was originally established as the Association of Retired NIS Special Agents (ARNISSA) dedicated to bringing together those who had served with ONI and NIS. The name change occurred to better reflect the affiliation and mission of the NCIS.
In addition to retired Special Agents, today’s NCISA also includes retired and former employees of NCIS who meet NCISA's eligibility requirements. The Association encourages active participation and is grateful to its members who pursue the Association’s mission of maintaining a fraternal, social and professional relationship with each other.
NCISA is involved in many programs for its members and serves as a link to the active NCIS.
Please explore our web site to learn more about our Association. Those interested in gaining membership are encouraged to review our Association By-Laws for eligibility requirements. An application form is provided for those who desire to apply for membership.
Thank you for visiting our web site. I hope you will return and participate often.
